Dartmouth Demo in Gallavally
May 7, 2004

Dartmouth Middle School in Hemet has asked for our help with the Medieval Faire that caps of their unit of studies on the Middle Ages. As in the past, we will need to set up six stations providing hands-on activities, a display area, and some fighting.

This is Gallavally's chief fundraiser, and as in the past the barony will receive a share for anyone outside our group who takes part. They have also fed us at lunchtime. If that changes, I'll let everyone know so that other arrangements can be made.

We have had commitments for weaving, papermaking, face painting, archery, copper embossing, and leather working. We still need fighters and people to help in the various stations. We need to borrow a few more inkle looms for the weaving station. We need a couple more pavilions or sunshades.

We also need items for display in the period encampment area. This will be a look-but-don't-touch area, and we will need helpers to monitor the area and keep the students on the other side of the ropes.

Casia is serving as liaison with the school, and Edwinna is event steward. Contact Edwinna to volunteer your services and/or display items at

We have an email list set up for the demo. Contact Edwinna, or Augustine at to be put on the list.

Caidan School of Needlework

The kingdom-level needlework group is planning a general meeting in April. We'll meet at Crown Tournament on Saturday, April 17th, at 12 p.m.-1 p.m. at the Lyondemere pavilion. Having gathered at the pavilion, we'll strike for some shady and less-hectic spot, so try to be timely!

We still conduct most of our business through the mailing list: you can join by sending a message to: . For more information, please phone or email Baroness Angelina .

The Right Noble Company of Clothiers is a kingdom-level autonomous collective dedicated to the principle that Everybody Needs More Clothes.

Meetings are open to anyone who wears same, although we will banish you to the dining room if you insist on talking about fighting, heraldry, scribal arts or software development. We also have a mailing list at Yahoo!Groups: it's a light-traffic list that reminds members of meetings and provides a forum for costume questions. You can join us by sending a message to:
