Dreiburgen Baronial Council Meeting - January 13, 2004 in Cabazon, CA Baronial Welcome: His Excellency sends his greetings. He is currently teaching classes. There are Riverside and San Bernardino maps available. Please mark your dwelling place upon the appropriate map. This will help determine how far people are driving for meetings. Many thanks are given to the many Dreiburgundians who helped out as cooks at 12th Night. Their Excellencies will not be attending Estrella. If someone is going to camp at Estrella, they can be given custody of the Baronial banner and pole. Seneschal Welcome: Please sign in. Thank you for sending in all Domesday reports. Anyone who had not sent one in please send in by Friday. Upcoming Events: Steinsee Anniversary on Jan 17. Arts & Sciences: The A&S Handbook is now available. Lady Elizabeta went to the Gallavally council Meeting and talked about A&S stuff. Chatelaine: Had a newcomers meeting this afternoon. We have new people interested in getting involved. Chirurgeon: Nothing new to report. Chronicler: We have news. The latest Dreiburgen News is now available. Constable: Nothing new to report. Exchequer: We have $10562.83 in our accounts. For more detail please contact Baroness Allaine. Herald: No report. Historian: We have history. Lord Darius suggests writing up what got you into the SCA. Librarian: We have books. Please use them. Lists: No events have been held in the past month. Steinsee Anniversary is coming up but Lady Una will not be attending. Anyone interested in doing the job should speak with her before the event. Marshall: No fighting events have happened in the past month. Two fighter practices happed each week - Tuesday in Riverside and Sunday in San Jacinto. Minister of Children: Preparing activities for Steinsee Anniversary. Web Minister: We have a website. Gallavally: Sent in report, nothing much new. There will be heavy and rapier fighting at Gallavally as well as youth combat. There will be a Peoples A&S as well as an SCA White Elephant sale. Still looking for location. Mons Draconis: Everything is the same as before. Sancti Geronimi: No report. Steinsee: Anniversary is January 17, so please come and enjoy yourself. Unfortunately the feast has been cancelled. A number of Marines from 29 palms are about ready ship out to Iraq. Our thoughts are with them. Armorers Guild: Last Baronial Armoury had two people come over. The next Baronial Armoury will be the 2nd Sunday in February, since the 3rd Sunday is Estrella. Culinary Arts Guild: Working on the charter. The guild is growing. The autocrats for the Festival of the Rose have asked the landed Baronage to sponsor cooks within their Baronies to provide food for up to 20 people. Asking for an advance of $50 to help buy ingredients. The Festival of the Rose will be in Gyldenholt on February 7. Equestrian Guild: No report. Jewelry Arts: No report. The next meeting will be the first Tuesday of the month at THLady Miriam and Lord Eoin's house. They will be covering bronze and wire work. Moniers Guild: Nothing new to report. Scriptorium: Meeting last night and painted scrolls. The next meeting will be in two weeks. Gadfly: No report. Dreiburgen Yule: Yule went quite well with a lot of food. The site change did well (we got a smaller room) for the small crowd that showed up for the event. We lost just a little bit of money on the event. The site tokens were great. Everyone had fun. Their Excellencies lead the populace dancing. The feast leftovers were donated to a homeless shelter. The people there were very appreciative of the gift. Steinsee Anniversary: Be there. Sancti Geronimi Anniversary: March 14. Things are in the planning stage. Spring Crown: April 17 at Bogart Park in Beaumont. Crown Prints announcement sent off. Autocrats had a meeting last Sunday (January 11). They possibly might be another meeting at Gallavally Anniversary. More meetings are planned as the event gets closer. Master Aldred will help with the layout of erics and space for pavilions. Lady Elizabeta will run a food court/tavern. She has a 10' by 10' Eaze-Up. She is taking care of all required county and park paperwork. THLady Miriam will provide food for their Majesties, their Excellencies, and those Their Majesties invite to their table. THLord Donal and Lord Eoin are making the site tokens. A call has been put out for event volunteers. Need a parking crew. Should ask people to carpool due to limited parking space. Need a dedicated parking volunteer to direct people. Need setup and breakdown help for pavilions. The park wants $2 per head for projected attendance plus $10 per merchant. The event gate will be at the park gate. Asking $100 for food for Royals. Pentathlon: Does Dreiburgen want to host the upcoming Pentathlon in March 2005? Need a large site with lots of parking and classrooms. We will have to come up with a guarantee of 20+ volunteers for the two days of the event. If we use a school, the brewing competition might be done in an RV parked on the street. Spring
