he days shorten as the year draws to a close, the Barony of Dreiburgen invites you to join in festivities appropriate to the season, an evening of fun, feasting and frolicking, Saturday, December 13, 2003 at the First Presbyterian Church in Gallavally. Theme for the day, and for the feast is an illusion: It's beginning to look a lot like Yule.

Competitions

Best table setting -- two categories, table set for up to 4 people, and table set for 5 or more, remember the theme is to create an illusion, to be a visual spectacular.
Story of the Season -- the best presentation (to the assembled group) of a story related to the end of the year, Yule or Christmas. This may be presented in song or verse.
Dessert Subtlety -- a dessert which looks like something, creates an illusion. Please be sure to include a list of ingredients, extra points for documentation.
Heraldic Pictionary -- pictionary, using heraldese. You may want to take a moment to review your handy heraldic dictionary.

ather Christmas is expected to appear for a gift exchange. Please bring a wrapped gift marked with a tag, stating whether it is for a Child, a Lady or a Lord, if you wish to participate in the gift exchange. Please limit your extravagance to $10.

5:00 p.m. - First Remove
6:30 p.m. - Second Remove
7:15 p.m. - Father Christmas presents gifts
8:00 p.m. - Third Remove
9:00 p.m. - Dancing
11:30 p.m. - Hall closes

The feast is planned to be a delight to the eye as well as the palate. Menu includes

First Remove: Mock Hummingbird tongues
Mock turtle soup
Salmon in aspic
Second Remove: Salad
Rice Castles filled with rattatouie
Dessert Ravioli
Third Remove: Layered soup
Roast beast
Buche de Noel

Site fee (includes feast)

Preregistration: Members $10, non-members $13, Children aged 6-12 $5, Children less than 6 are guests of the Barony,
At the Door: Members $12, non-members $15, Children aged 6-12 $6.
Family fee cap two adult fees and two children s fees.

Preregistrations may be e-mailed, followed by posting a check. Make check payable to Sca, Inc, Barony of Dreiburgen, and send to (removed) before December 3 (must be postmarked by this date). Cancellations must be made before December 9 for full refund.

Directions: [Map] Take Highway 79 south from Highway 10, or Highway 74 east from Highway 215, to Florida Ave in central Hemet. Proceed East on Florida Ave. to Buena Vista Ave. Turn south on Buena Vista one block to First Presbyterian Church, 515 East Kimball Ave. The Fellowship Hall is on the south side of Kimball adjacent to the courtyard.
