St. Corrigan's Day
August 16, 2003
Come, journey to the highlands of Gallavally, and join us for a day filled
with fun, fighting and friendship as we celebrate the return of our wandering,
eh, traveling Saint Corrigan and revel in the games he has brought back to our
Canton.
A full day for heavy weapons fighters includes; Combat Hunkerhauser, Team
"Sack" Races, Relays, Melees, Team Base Battle, and the Slaying of
the Gallavally Dragon! (We would like to extend an invitation to all Rapier
fighters to come display their skills this day as well!)
For those not inclined to be bludgeoned we will have a table games
tournament, 5 Pin Bowl-ing (old wooden bowls you are not particularly fond of
would be greatly appreciated), Hunkerhauser, and a Lawn Gnome Toss (yes, that's
right, a Lawn Gnome Toss). You can also show off your talents in the following
competitions to honor the return of our merry wandering Saint:
- Create the best traveling gear or garb that can also be used as a game
- Tell the best traveling tale either orally, in song or in writing
- Make the best marshmallow siege weapon
- Design a dessert fit for a Saint (Corrigan, that is.) Documentation not
required (but we like a good story!)
- For our younger friends there will be Youth Combat Competitions (remember
your closed toe shoes), games, Sponge Battles, Dragon Slaying and travel game
making.
There is also a rumor that Saint Corrigan has discovered a miraculous treat
that can be made with the aid of ice and salt. (Bring a large metal bowl, a
smaller bowl with tall straight sides or a small metal saucepan that fits
inside the large bowl and a long handled spoon to find out what it may be.)
A prize will also be awarded to the gentle or family that travels the
farthest distance to come and play this day!
Due to an increase in the cost of the site, we will be holding a Helm
Auction and a Silent Auction/Raffle rather than increase the site fee.
A grand time should be had by all, we hope you make the journey!
A Revel/Bardic is being planned for after the event as well; information will
be available on site.
