Pagus Sancti Geronimi Anniversary
Celebration and Tourney

Pagus Sancti Geronimi invites one and all to come and join us as we celebrate our anniversary on March 6, 2005.

Our own St. Geronimus was so plagued by his afflictions of the nose, he did remove the offending member. On this, his day, we recognize his sacrifice and attempt to do him honor with games and contests devoted to the nose! We challenge all of the populace to enter our arts and science competition and help solve his nose woes by designing a faux nose. Any medium, any materials may be used; imagination only required. We will also have a children's art coloring contest, on site, in honor the Their Excellencies Malcolm and Robynne; a "pin the nose on the saint" game; and a "common scents" contest.

In addition to the games and contests planned for all ages in the spirit of our renowned patron, we will call on tradition and hold a best miracle contest. It is said that those that pray to St. Geronimus for a miracle will have it granted - only with an unfortunate twist. We encourage you to tell your true story of a miracle gone awry to Baron Malcolm Alberic. We also invite all to compete in our best relic of St. Geronimus, which will be added to the saint's reliquary for display at future anniversaries. Documentation is required, please.

As it this weren't enough fun, we will be holding our traditional tissue and carrot melees. Fighting will be round robin for the rapiers and double elimination for the heavies. A raffle will be held in lieu of a helm auction.

The event will be held at Hunt Park: 4015 Jackson St.; Riverside, CA 92504. So, come on out and bring with you your weapons, your faux nose project, your miracle story, a relic or just yourself to join in on the fun!

Site fee is $3.00 for all members 12 years & older (proof of membership is required); $6.00 for non-members. There will be a maximum $12.00 charge per family. Make checks payable to: "SCA, Inc./Pagus Sancti Geronimi."

This is a dry site and merchandising is not allowed.

Directions: [map] Take your favorite freeway to the 91 at Van Buren Blvd., in Riverside. If coming from downtown Riverside/Barstow (westbound), turn right onto Van Buren Blvd. Go to Magnolia and turn right. Go to Jackson and turn left. The park is on the right on the corner of Jackson and Garfield. If coming from LA/Orange County (eastbound), the Van Buren off-ramp exits onto Indiana. Exit Van Buren and turn left on Indiana and go to Jackson. Turn left on Jackson. The park is on the right on the corner of Jackson and Garfield.
